You all know about the SEMA Show, right? SEMA, aka the Specialty Equipment Market Assn., holds its extravaganza of aftermarket parts, and the project cars that use them, annually in Las Vegas. For many folks in the automotive business, it’s a must-see event.
It’s even more so this year because when the show opens Nov. 4, several specialist companies will take the wraps off of their own Lexus project cars.
Headlining the project cars will be a fresh take on the Lexus GS 460 by Five Axis. Called Project GS, the vehicle will debut inside the Lexus SEMA booth on Tuesday.
But that’s not all. Project IS F, first shown at SEMA last year, returns with a heavily modified 5.75L V8 engine.
Additionally, four unique IS F project cars created by independent builders Fox Marketing/Artisan Performance, Import Tuner Magazine/TEIN Suspension, 0-60 Magazine and MotorworldHype will be on display.
Finally, Lexus will display a custom LX 570 created by ICON 4x4 Design. This concept brings a stealthy and functional look to the LX, augmented by several performance upgrades.
Unfortunately for most of us, the SEMA show and all its hard-metal glory is reserved for those people in the automotive trade.

+ 2008 Paris: Lexus IS250C Convertible Debuts
So most of us won’t be able to gain entry. Still, it’s nice to know about what’s going on there, and even nicer to think about the growing Lexus performance wave.
