Nashville Auto Show 2008 Exotic Cars

The annual Nashville International Auto Show 2008 rolls into town from Friday and runs through Sunday, featuring hundreds of new cars, trucks, vans, crossovers and sport utility vehicles at the Nashville Convention Center.


Among highlights of the show will be several concept vehicles and new models that are not yet available in dealer showrooms, including the new 2009 Nissan Maxima that will be built at the automaker's plant in Smyrna.


Concepts that will be on display include the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro, the revival of the classic General Motors muscle car with design cues from the late 1960s, and the Suzuki Zuk, a virtual street-legal racecar based on the SX4 compact.


Besides the new vehicles for 2008 (and some 2009 models) from the mainline manufacturers, there also will be a display of exotic cars from such automakers as Ferrari, Maserati and Aston Martin.


At least 25 manufacturers' vehicles will be displayed at the show, including the latest alternative-fuel vehicles such as the new gasoline-electric hybrid full-size Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon SUVs, the hybrid Chevrolet Malibu and Saturn Aura, the small crossover SUV hybrids from Ford and Saturn (the Ford Escape /Mercury Mariner and Saturn Vue Green Line), and, of course, several hybrids from Toyota, including the Toyota Prius, Highlander, Camry and the Lexus RX 400h, GS 450h, and LS 600h.


Other vehicles not yet on sale that will be at the show include the Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Aveo five-door, Lincoln MKS sedan, and Nissan GT-R super car.


Among other new or significantly redesigned models on the show floor will be the Acura RDX, Buick Enclave, Cadillac CTS, Chevrolet HHR SS, Chevrolet Malibu, Chrysler Sebring convertible, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Grand Caravan, Ford Focus, Ford Shelby GT500, GMC Acadia, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Land Rover LR2.


Also on display will be the new or revised Lexus LX570, Lincoln MKX, Mazda CX-9, Mercury Mariner, Nissan Altima coupe, Nissan Rogue, Pontiac G8, Saturn Astra, Scion xD, Suzuki SX4 sedan, Toyota Highlander and Volvo C30.


Comic book super-hero Spider-Man will be there Saturday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. to greet children.
